Norma Jean Sanders December 24, 1945 September 30, 2016 Norma Jean (Jeannie) passed away on a Friday morning surrounded by those who loved her greatly. She will be remembered by many whose lives she touched. Born in San Bernardino, California, on Christmas Eve, she soon was brought to her home on Turner Road, Victorville, California. There she was joined by two older sisters. She attended Victor Elementary, Victor Jr. High, Victor Sr. High and Victor Valley Community College. While she attended VVCC she excelled in her drama classes, working behind the scenes and acting in productions. Leaving home, she attended Cal. State Northridge. There she earned her degree in Special Education. After graduation, she was hired by Los Angeles Unified School District, where she worked until her death. Left to miss her dearly are her sisters: Linda Bowers (Bob), Kathleen McGregor (Norm), Patricia Eddy and her sister-in-law, Lani Sanders (Larry). Also Eighteen nieces and nephews and twenty-three great nieces and nephews. Those who passed before her are her parents, Wayne and Phyllis Sanders, brother, Larry Sanders and sister Leslie Chenard (Mike). As a child and young adult, Jeannie attended Zion Lutheran Church, Victorville. There she sang in the children's choir and adult choir, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. At the time of her death, she practiced Nichiren Buddhism. Services will be held in North Hollywood on October 22, 2016. Her ashes will be scattered at sea.
