Nori G. Hall
HALL Nori Grace, 66, died peacefully at home on Jan 25, 2017. Born Aug 22, 1950 in Geneva, IL, Nori was predeceased by her father, Norman Bell Hall, and survived by her mother, Helen Grace Tillis Hall of Tequesta, FL; her sister Janis Hall of New York City; husband Wilson S. Shirley III; and children Carrie Grace Shirley and Wilson S. Shirley IV. Raised in Ho-Ho-Kus and Ridgewood, NJ, Nori received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Economics and Fine Arts from Smith College; a Graduate Diploma from the Architectural Association, London, England; a Master's degree in Architecture from Rice University; and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Stanford University. Leaving a successful career in San Francisco Bay Area real estate development to raise her children, Nori moved to Lexington, KY in 1996, where she pursued her interest in medium format photography and digital imaging. Nori was well-known and -liked in the central Kentucky arts community. Her distinctive work has been widely seen in many regional solo and group exhibits, as well as in public and private collections, at the Ann Tower Gallery, and in numerous commercial and public spaces. She was a member of the Lexington Camera Club and of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. In her sweetness, beauty, grace, and courage, she will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 533 East Main Street, Lexington, KY on Fri, Feb 24 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to LexArts or the Church of the Good Shepherd.
