Nona L. Miller Born: October 5, 1933; in McLeansboro, IL Died: October 12, 2016; in Maple Park, IL Nona L. Miller, 83, of Maple Park, died unexpectedly at her home on October 12, 2016. She was born on October 5th, 1933 to Grafton and Pearl (Wheeler) Little in McLeansboro, Illinois. She graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1952 and moved to DeKalb in 1953 to work as a secretary for General Electric. In 1954, she married Harold E. Miller and moved to their farm near Maple Park. They ran a grain and livestock farm and raised their three children Terry, Brad, and Tracy there. Nona was a hard working woman who loved the farm and lived there the rest of her life. After the passing of her husband Harold in 1981, she took a job with the United States Postal Service, and served for 23 years as a dedicated rural route mail carrier. Nona was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; and five brothers, Welden, William, Wilson, Kenneth and Charles. She is survived by her three children, Terry and Kelly Miller of Sycamore, Brad and Cindy Miller of DeKalb, and Tracy and Tim Baak of Newell, Iowa. Seven Grandchildren, Kacie (Baak) and Joe Fisher, Brian and Michelle Miller, Ryan Miller, Nikki (Baak) and Jeff Hogue, Brent and Taylor Miller, Spencer Baak, and Karissa Miller. Three Great Grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aden, and Emerson (Brian & Michelle) Also, mourning her loss are her sisters, Myrtle Pool, Margie Neal, Dorothy Gwaltney. Sister in laws, Donna Little, Leora Little, Delores Scott, Sharon (and husband Bob) Phillips. Plus numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many, many friends.
