January 7, 1924 - February 15, 2017 CHOCTAW Noah Jones, Jr., 93, went home to Jesus Feb. 15, 2017. He was born in Lamar, AR, to Noah H. Jones, Sr. and Alpha M. (Allison) Jones. Noah left the family farm to join the Army in WWII as a Paratrooper, 17th Airborne Div., which spearheaded the attack on Munster, Germany. He later served in the 82nd Airborne. Noah was in the Battle of the Bulge, Rhine River Jump, and received 2 Battle Stars and 1 Spearhead. Noah also served during the Korean War. He retired from Safeway. He enjoyed reading the Bible, hunting, and spending time with his family. He was a long-time member of First Southern Baptist Church and a current member of Sooner Road Baptist Church, both of Del City. Noah was a proud member of Teamster's Local Union #886. He is survived by brother Joe and his wife Barbara of Salyer, CA; a daughter and twin sons and their spouses--Jacque and Doyne Roper of Austin, AR, Sheldon and Leslie of Choctaw, OK, and Shannon and Christina of Midwest City, OK. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Betty (Rodgers) Jones, brothers, Wayne and Noel, and sisters, Ernestine Tumbleson and Lucille Steele. Noah was the proud grandfather of 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat., Feb. 18, 2017, at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St., OKC, OK 73141 with burial to follow Military Honors at Arlington Memory Gardens, MWC, OK. ...
