Nicola Ciccone LAWRENCEVILLE Nicola Ciccone, 83, of Lawrenceville, NJ, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Compassionate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pettoranello, Italy, he resided in Lawrenceville for the past 57 years. Mr. Ciccone retired in 1998 after 41 years from the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, NJ. He was a member and past secretary of the Roma Eterna Society, Princeton, a parishioner of the Church of Saint Ann, and a volunteer meal server at the Lawrence Senior Center, Lawrenceville. Nicola was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing bocce, but his passion was spending time with his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Achille and Assunta Nini Ciccone, he is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ada P. Cifelli Ciccone; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James A. and Dawn Ciccone, and Michael J. Ciccone and his fiancee, Eileen Spain; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan D. and Nicolas R. Scozzari; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bice Carnevale, and Michelina and Alfonso Sferra. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Christopher Ciccone, Daniel Ciccone, and his fiancee, Lisa Tamulis; Samantha Ciccone, and her fiance, August Ventura; Nicolas Scozzari, Jr. and his fiancee, Katie Robbins; Gia Scozzari, Alyssa Ciccone, and Michael Ciccone, Jr., and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at 12 noon, at the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Entombment will follow in Saint Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the Church of Saint Ann. In lieu of flowers and due to cemetery floral regulations, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648, or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
