Nicola Ciccone LAWRENCEVILLE - Nicola Ciccone, 83, of Lawrenceville, NJ, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Compassionate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pettoranello, Italy, he resided in Lawrenceville for the past fifty-seven years. Mr. Ciccone retired in 1998 after forty-one years from the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, New Jersey. He was a member and past secretary of the Roma Eterna Society, Princeton, a parishioner of the Church of Saint Ann, and a volunteer meal server at the Lawrence Senior Center, Lawrenceville. Nicola was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing Bocce, but his passion was spending time with his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Achille and Assunta Nini Ciccone, he is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Ada P. Cifelli Ciccone, two sons and a daughter-in-law, James A. and Dawn Ciccone, and Michael J. Ciccone and his fiancé, Eileen Spain, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan D. and Nicolas R. Scozzari, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bice Carnevale, and Michelina and Alfonso Sferra, seven grandchildren, Christopher Ciccone, Daniel Ciccone, and his fiancé, Lisa Tamulis, Samantha Ciccone, and her fiancé, August Ventura, Nicolas Scozzari, Jr. and his fiancé, Katie Robbins, Gia Scozzari, Alyssa Ciccone, and Michael Ciccone, Jr,. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 12:00 noon, at the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Entombment will follow in Saint Mary’s Mausoleum, Hamilton. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Tuesday Morning, January 17, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Church of Saint Ann. In lieu of flowers and due to Cemetery Floral Regulations, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648, or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
