Nancye PULLEY
(1940 2017) In Sacramento, California Nancye Denmark Pulley, born on February 29, 1940, in Binghamton, New York, passed away on January 27, 2017 in Sacramento, California, at the age of 76. Nancye is survived by her loving husband Roger, her daughter Judith (Carlson) and son Robert, and her grandchildren Nicole Eggert, Christopher Carlson and Jerica (Bartell). Nancye was the daughter of Navy Commander Monroe Franklin Denmark and Beulah Virginia Hainer, a local radio personality in the Binghamton area. She attended 19 different schools in grades K-12 before graduating from San Leandro High School in June of 1957. She then attended Oakland City College where she met Roger, her husband-to-be. The family moved to Sacramento in 1970 and Nancye enrolled in classes at California State University, Sacramento, where she earned her Teaching Credential in Applied and Fine Arts in 1976. She taught arts and crafts for the Sacramento City Unified School District for over 25 years. She earned the respect of her employer and colleagues as a loving, caring teacher who always made the extra effort to help her students learn new skills while, at the same time, facilitating their rehabilitation. Nancye's smile lit up a room and her laugh was infectious. She had a zest for life and a thirst for knowledge. She will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6925 Havenhurst Drive, Sacramento, California.
