In memory of
Nancy F. Stroud Nancy F. Stroud passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, October 2nd 2016. Nancy was born on March 9th, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Keith and Shirley Fanshier. Nancy attended The University of Illinois where she was a proud member of the Tri Delt Sorority and received her degree in Journalism in May of 1950. This is when she met her husband and life partner of 63 years – Jack Stroud. Together they started a family in Winnetka, Illinois and later made a stop in Pittsford, New York as Jack's career continued to grow. Their next and final stop was in Los Altos, California in 1971. It's there that Nancy and Jack enjoyed so many years together – sharing a passion for golf with their many friends at Los Altos Golf Country Club. Members for over 40 years, Nancy enjoyed playing bridge with her friends – along with golf on the weekends with Jack. Nancy also had a passion for antiques and owned an antique business with shops in Los Altos and later in Palo Alto. Her true passion however, was for her family. First, raising her three children and later the grandkids. Allie Carnegie, Jennifer Sovey, Jackie and Danny Stroud were the loves of her life. Most recently a great grandson, Miles Carnegie was born and brought Nancy great joy! Nancy lost her partner of 63 years back in 2013. She is now joining with her lifelong partner whom she has missed dearly the past 3 years. Nancy is survived by her son, Tom and fiancé, Lori Arthur of Menlo Park; daughter, Susan of Los Altos; and son, Steve and wife Cathy of San Antonio, Texas. Also, her sister Shirley Wallace of Bellingham, Washington; grandchildren, Allison & Charlie Carnegie of New York, NY; Jennifer Sovey of Seattle, Washington; Jaclyn Stroud of Austin, Texas and Daniel Stroud of Denver, Colorado. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to The Lucille Packard Children's Hospital.
