Pool, Nancy A. Nancy Anderson Pool, a longtime resident of Wilton, died peacefully on January 10, 2017 at The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden, CT at the age of 81. Born in 1935 in Needham, MA, Nancy received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Colby College and worked in the advertising industry as an administrative assistant for J. Walter Thompson in New York. In a career change, she continued her education to become an elementary school teacher in New Canaan, CT. After marrying and moving to Wilton, Nancy taught preschool for many years at the Wilton Congregational Day School. Nancy loved the beach and made many special memories with her family and friends at Compo Beach in Westport, CT. She was an active member of the Saugatuck Congregational Church as well as the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.), an organization that promotes the advancement and education of women. Nancy is survived by her daughters Meredith Burnett and her husband Robert, of Oxford, PA, Suzanne Tobin and her husband William, of Middletown, CT; her brother Robert Anderson and his wife MaryAnne, of Carlsbad, CA; and her grandchildren Bridget Burnett, Heather Burnett, Colleen Burnett, Ryan Tobin, and Liam Tobin. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Pool, of Wilton, CT; and her parents Walter and Anne Anderson. A service is scheduled for Monday January 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Saugatuck Congregational Church at 245 Post Rd E, Westport, CT followed by Internment at Hillside Cemetery at 165 Ridgefield Road Wilton, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Rd E, Westport, CT 06880 or the Alzheimer's Association, Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
