Nancy A. Hesse
Nancy A. Hesse, 80, of Pottsville, passed away Monday morning surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Born Nov. 14, 1935, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Rosalie Horan Pauly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, William E. "Billy" Hesse. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William J. Hesse. She is also survived by children, William T. Hesse, Pottsville, Debra M. Lombel, Schuylkill Haven, and Carol A. Wood, wife of David, Pottsville. Her surviving grandchildren are Jesse Wood, Florida, Rachel Wood, Pottsville, Justin Lombel, Schuylkill Haven, and Kyle Lombel, California. She is also survived by a brother, Larry T. Pauly, Pottsville; nieces and nephews. Nancy was a 1953 graduate of Saint Clair High School. She was a real estate agent for 30-plus years with Ryon Real Estate. Nancy was an active member of St. Patrick Church, Pottsville. She volunteered her time as an ombudsman at local nursing homes, and for many years was an advocate for Schuylkill Women in Crisis. She was the secretary of the Catholic War Vets Ladies Auxiliary. At one time she was the director of the Schuylkill County Board of Realtors Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Church, Pottsville, with Monsignor Edward J. O'Connor officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville.
