In memory of
Nancy Lou Fieber
Nancy Lou Fieber, 82, of Bakersfield, passed away peacefully January 7, 2017. Nancy was born in Whittier, California on February 13, 1934 to Earl and Betty Willey. She grew up with her parents and three siblings in Lost Hills, California and graduated from Wasco High School. In 1952, Nancy married the love of her life, Herman Fieber, and they spent the next 52 years together, until his passing in 2004. Nancy spent the last 12 years of her life with friends, family, and loved ones that were dear to her heart. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Earl, husband, Herman, and her brother, Jerry. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Missy Carstens (and husband Allen), grandchildren Dan (and wife Sarah), Phil, Aaron, and great-grandchildren Nolan and Lucas; son David (and wife Sonia); son Randy (and wife Debbie), grandchildren Kyle (and wife Kristi), Brian, and Leighann. Nancy is also survived by her brother Gordon Willey (and wife Fran), sister Mary Ellen Rodgers (and husband Jim), and many nieces and nephews. Nancy Fieber lived a long, rich and fulfilling life. She raised three children and had a successful career working in the Collections Department at Kern Medical Center. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Herman, especially to Illinois to visit her daughter and grandchildren. After Herman's passing, Nancy filled her time traveling, socializing, and doing volunteer work with Kern Adult Literacy and Love Inc. Her hobbies included reading, watching movies and fishing. She loved taking trips to Hawaii and Laughlin, Nevada with her close friend Naomi Witmer. She enjoyed gambling trips with Chuck and Di Wall. Nancy loved the mountains, especially the Eastern Sierras. Nancy was a spiritual person and very active in her church. Although Parkinson's Disease slowed down her physical activity the last four years, Nancy's sense of humor always remained and she never let the disease get her down or stop her from being the kindest, nicest, most loving person and mother that anyone could ever know. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the following for their gentle kindness, love, and support in caring for Nancy the past four years: Noemi Medrano and Veronica Lupercio; Jasmin and Jerry Yatco and their staff at ARCADIA Family Care, especially Vina Visico and Fedila Dagdag; and the wonderful staff of Hoffmann Hospice. A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at River Lakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Drive, Bakersfield, with brunch served immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hoffmann Hospice (8501 Brimhall Road, Bakersfield, CA 93312), Native Daughters of the Golden West (543 Baker Street, San Francisco, CA 94117) or to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation ( www.pdf.org ).
