A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Myrna passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 8 a.m., at the age of 80. God was merciful and took her peacefully in her sleep. Myrna survived three rounds of cancer, only to succumb to complications from a stroke. She was a native and resident of Plaquemine. Myrna was affectionately known as "Granny" to her granddaughters and "Nan" to her nieces and nephews. She was 1954 graduate of St. John High School and attended Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School. Visiting will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Monday, October 17th from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Burial to follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery. Myrna is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dudley J. Callahan of Plaquemine; her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Vince Puhl of Baton Rouge; granddaughters, Candace Puhl and Kristin Puhl, both of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Neva and Paul Bourgeois of Birmingham, AL; nieces and nephews, Gregory, Larry, Gary, Donnie and David Bourgeois, Annette Strother and Allison Bailey and their spouses; numerous great nieces and great nephews. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Edward "Pias" F. and Annette Schlater Dupuy; infant brother, Eugene Schlater Dupuy; niece, Dr. Lauren Bourgeois. Myrna was the operator of Vogue Beauty Box, beauty salon. She was a long time member of The Plaquemine Garden Club and former member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Choir and the Catholic Daughters. She also belonged to the Baton Rouge Area Cosmetology Association, serving on the board of directors and as president for one term.
