Myra Mae Johnson was born April 25, 1936 in Bakersfield, California to Keith and Bernice Wagner. The youngest of five children, she attended local schools, graduating from East High in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul S. Johnson, and they were married for over 50 years until his death in 2007. His passing left a hole in her heart she could never fill. Myra devoted her life to raising her family and taking care of her home, always making sure everyone else's needs were met before her own. She was an amazing cook, an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening in her spare time. Myra is survived by her three daughters, Karen Snyder and her husband Don of Phoenix, AZ, Shirley Hansen and her husband Frank, and Jean Peters and her husband Steven, all of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Tyler Hansen and his wife Kelsey of San Francisco, CA, Heather Hansen and Carson Peters, both of Bakersfield, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul S. Johnson; her parents; her sisters Virginia Dalziell, Polly Addington, Jane Tippin, and her brother Martin (Mike) Wagner. The family would like to thank all of the people who cared for Myra in her final days. Graveside burial service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd. on Thursday, April 20th, at 2:00pm. Chaplain Wayne will officiate.
