Myra Yvonne Darling ELMORE: Myra Yvonne Darling, 95 of Elmore, OH died suddenly Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Mercy- St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born October 31, 1921 in Dyer, AR to the late Monroe and Sylvia Nelson. She was a 1939 graduate of Alma Consolidated High School in Fort Smith, AK and from Fort Smith Junior College in 1942. On September 8, 1945 she married James W. Darling who preceded her in death December 18, 1998. Yvonne held jobs with Owens- Illinois Glass Company in Toledo, OH, the former Brush Beryllium in Elmore, Sears, Roebuck & Company and retired at the age of 61 as an office and claims clerk for the Brandow Insurance Agency in Elmore. She was a member of St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church, Elmore where she taught Sunday School, served as Bible School coordinator and held nearly every office in the United Methodist Women organization. Yvonne also served her community as a charter member of the Elmore, Ohio Sorority Delta Chi, Elmore Village Council, Precinct Chairman for Harris Township #1 Precinct, and the Ottawa County Board of Elections. She also served in nearly every office of the American Legion Auxiliary Elmore Post #279. Survivors include her daughter Jane (Mike) Tunnell of Beaumont, TX; son John "Jack" Darling of Texas; grandchildren: Sheena, Shawna, Shanna, James & Heather; 2 great- grandchildren; several cousins, nieces & nephews. Funeral Services will begin at noon on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 19550 W. State Route 51, Elmore, OH 43416 with Pastor Rob Rakay officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning beginning at 10am. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul Trinity United Methodist Church.
