MORTON FOXE Passed away suddenly on September 12, 2016 at age 93 following his attendance at a forum at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, just days three days short of his 94th birthday. Mort grew up in Hempstead, NY and was a 54 year resident of Montgomery County, MD. During World War II, he served in the US Army, 38th Signal Corps Battalion, in Europe, and later in the Pacific. Afterwards, on the GI Bill, he earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering at Syracuse University. He later earned a Master of Engineering Administration degree from George Washington University. He contributed towards development of cutting-edge technology in television, computing and space exploration, primarily during his employment at IBM and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Mort was a beloved husband, father, grand- father, great-grandfather, uncle, friend and neighbor. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dr. Esther Foxe; daughters, Helene Kain (Dr. Christopher) and Andrea Solomon (Dr. David); grandchildren, Christopher "Topper" (Jennifer Hodges), Alexander and Andrew Kain, Julie and Sarah Solomon; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Grayson Kain. He strongly advocated for the use of (previously discarded) older kidneys for transplant to older patients and he lived 9 years with his.
