In memory of
1955 ~ 2017 Monroe Blackburn, age 61, passed away after a short illness on February 11, 2017. He was born November 22, 1955 in Talihina, OK where he was raised by his grandparents Isom and Lena Wallen until he was 10 years old. He then lived in St. Johns, AZ with the Wilford Shumway family as a foster child. Monroe attend St. Johns High School where he excelled in football, basketball & track. He later made his home in Utah. He most recently worked at Relevant Solutions where he had many close friends. Monroe had lifelong friendships with people in both Arizona and Utah and was loved by many. Monroe is survived by his brother David Blackburn, sister Kathy Long, his remaining foster siblings Mark and Douglas Shumway, many foster cousins, nieces and nephews as well as his "family" at Relevant Solutions. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 18, 2017, 11 a.m. at the LDS ward house at 1495 W. Tamarack Rd (4630 So.), Taylorsville. A viewing will be held prior to the services, 10 - 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Taylorsville Memorial Park, 4575 South Redwood Road.
