Mona Elizabeth Carter, age 56, resident of Kenner, Louisiana and born and raised in New Orleans, passed away October 12, 2016 at Ochsner Hospital from natural causes. Mona was born to the late Curlie E. Jones and the late Helen Ree Hollins on October 3, 1960. She was educated in the Orleans Parish School System. At the age of sixteen, she found a passion for cooking. Her passion led her to working at Treasure Chest Casino for 22 years. She enjoyed laughing, playing jokes, helping others, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her soulmate, Walter C. Quinn and her loving children, Dominique Carter, Ira Carter, Christopher Carter, Anaise Patterson, Cree Harris, and Edwin Colar. She leaves behind her siblings, Charles W Gore, Russell Gore, Lois Thomas, Yolanda Green, Joseph Gore. She also leaves behind several grandchildren, Destiny Carter, Faith Carter, Je'Kyron Patterson, Je'Vaughn Young, Jakai Carter, Alivia Carter, Je'Mahl Patterson, and Co'Ryah Lewis. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the service on Saturday, October 22 at 9:00 AM at Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until time of service. A funeral service will also be held at 1:00 PM at Smith Chapel U.M.C., Laurel, MS. Interment: Nora Davis Cemetery, Laurel, MS.
