Mitchell "Rocky" Thompson March 7, 1955 - January 8, 2017 Hemingway Mitchell "Rocky" Thompson, 61, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at his home. Mr. Thompson was born in Turbeville, SC, a son of the late Edward Archer and Vernon Moore Thompson. He was a retired Mechanic for Wellman Industries, a member of the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church, and the Kingstree Masonic Lodge # 46. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sitting around a bon fire with good friends shooting the breeze. Surviving are his wife, Linda Williams Thompson; a son, John Moore and his wife Pam who he considered his daughter; a daughter, Tammy Kamishin; 2 grandsons, Chris Moore and Derick Moore; in-laws who became his brothers and sisters, Emily and Butch Moore, Marva and Bob Salts, Rut and Don Gabella, Linda and Jimmy Williams, and Susan and Ronald Williams; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by Butch Moore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, with full Masonic rites, will be in the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the Morris Funeral Home, 416 N. Main St., Hemingway, SC 29554. After the service the family will receive friends at the home of Don and Rut Gabella, 249 Williams Hill Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.
