Kinnel, Misako (80) Misako Kinnel passed away at home with family at her bedside on March 24, 2017, after a three year battle with cancer. Misako was born on March 6, 1937 in Taichu-Shu, Taiwan to Katsuzo & Shisuko Tanaka. Moving to Fukuoka, Japan in 1946, Misako was soon orphaned. Misako was adopted in 1948 into the Yoshitsugu family. In 1957, Misako met her future husband, a career U.S. Marine in Iwakuni, Japan. Misako, her husband and young son traveled to the USA in late 1959. The family lived in North Carolina, New Mexico, Florida and California. Misako enjoyed gardening and bowling with her friends at Westbrook and Valley View Bowling Lanes, as part of the "Niko Niko" and other bowling teams. In later years, she enjoyed visiting local casinos playing the slot machines. Misako is survived by Richard, her loving husband and companion of 60 years; daughter, Ami (Dan) and sons, Charles (Linda) and John (Deborah); five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and in Japan, one sister and three brothers. Misako was laid to rest at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar on April 8, 2017.
