Minuon Tucker Massie, age 86, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus, Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at The Terrace in Denison. Mrs. Massie was born June 25, 1930 in Crowell, Texas the daughter of Elmer and Rachel (Ward) Tucker. Her mother passed when Minuon was three years old. Elmer married Marie Jones in 1935 and raised Minuon as her own daughter. Minuon married, Leo Paul Massie, November 22, 1947 in Denison, Texas. They were together for 46 years, before he passed away June 6, 1994. Minuon loved the Lord and was a pastor's wife and worked faithfully in church for over 35 years. She loved music and sang many special selections at church. Along with her church duties she worked in the medical field at Dr. Herzog's office and Gainesville Memorial Hospital. Her last years of work were in bookkeeping and tax service. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Minuon leaves behind her beloved family, her faithful brother, E. W. Tucker Jr. and wife, Mary of Rockwall, TX; her loving children, William Massie and wife, Jan of Las Cruces, NM: Paula Howard and husband, Harley of Midway, TX; Terri Massie Nicolaisen and husband, Richard of Cotton Valley, LA; Tina Marie Massie of Fort Worth, TX; and Esther Hancock and husband, Bill of Denison, TX; 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel with Brother Jim Branscum officiating. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Terrace, Guardian Hospice and Dr. Larry Whitfield for the excellent care given to our beloved mother.
