Mildred C. "Dilly" EVELYN
EVELYN, Mildred C. "Dilly" Sandy Springs, GA Sweet and cheerful, Dilly Left this world on October 15th, 2016, one month shy of her 97th birthday. She also left us a roadmap for "living right," a lifetime of kindness, love, and humor. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to George and Agnes Kessler a year after WWI ended, Dilly grew up to be a talented dancer who loved poetry. She met her sailor in typing class, noticing him for his kindness, good looks, and a propensity to waste paper. WWII prolonged their engagement, but Bob and Dilly were married for 63 years, raised five boys, and traveled extensively after their retirement. Preceding her to heaven were her husband, Robert R. Evelyn, Sr. and their son, Robert "Roe" Evelyn, Jr. Dilly is survived by her daughter in law, Danna Evelyn of Waleska, Georgia, and sons George (Katy) Evelyn of San Francisco, Paul (Juliette) Evelyn of Atlanta, Bill (Nancy) Evelyn of Watkinsville, and Richard (Aleksandra) Evelyn of Alpharetta, plus ten grandchildren who have each experienced her abundant love. A memorial will be held in Atlanta this December. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to show love to others while embracing life.
