Feb. 28, 1927 - Feb. 5, 2018 Woodland Milan Emra Hinkle passed away Feb. 5, at the age of 90, with his wife, Deanna, by his side. Milan was born at home in Penryn, CA, to Dorothy Marie Hinkle (Peck). They moved to Woodland when he was very young, and before moving to San Francisco at the age of six, then returning to Woodland in 1941. Graduated from Woodland High School in 1945. Milan married Deanna Hull on Nov. 20, 1955 and made their forever home in Woodland, raising four children. Milan was a member of the National Guard, an Electrician for Woodland Electric and Rowland Electric before becoming an Electrical Contractor in 1976, and starting his own business with his wife "Yolo Electrical Service", retiring in 1997. He was a volunteer Fire Fighter for Woodland Fire Dept. and Spring Lake Fire District. Milan was a Boy Scout Leader for eight years, and Yolo County's first Hunter Safety Instructor. He was a member of the Sacramento Jazz Society, volunteer for Woodland Swim Team, member of the Woodland Fire Support Branch. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, gardener, and cook. Milan is survived by his wife of 62 years, Deanna Hinkle; sons, Harold (Ivy) Hinkle and Tim Hinkle; daughters, Barbara (Bill) Collignon and Cyndie (Larry) Nowell; grandchildren, Steven and Richard Hinkle, Jeff and Brian Collignon, Melissa Boyer, Samantha and Amie Nowell, and Harrison Hinkle; three great grandchildren; sister-in- law, Sue Dudley and nephews, Doug, Joe and Scott Hemmingway. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hinkle; uncle, Harold Peck; son-in-law, Steve Dalton, and nephew, Bruce Hemmingway. Graveside services Monday, Feb. 12, at 2:30 p.m., at Monument Hill Memorial Park, 35036 County Road 22.
