Michael "Mike" Stamey, 60, of Morristown, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. He was born on June 6, 1956 in Dayton, OH. He moved to Tennessee in 1972, and finally settled in Morristown in 1994. A man of faith, he was a member of Manley Baptist Church. He was the owner/proprietor of Original Subs. A businessman by trade and an artist at heart; he shared his love of poetry and music with his family. Instilling that love of music into his children, of which, he was their number one fan. He was also passionate about sports; a true die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and UT Volunteers. He was a loving father, husband and friend. "Life is but a shout, so shout loud." – Mike Stamey He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Debbie; son, Justin and wife, Brittany; daughter, Lindsey and husband, Thomas Boyd; sisters, Linda McBee (Ocala, Fla.) and Lola Black (Maryville). The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mayes Mortuary in Morristown. A private service will be held for family at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the McMinn Memorial Gardens in Athens, Tenn.
