Michael Nicks
NICKS, Michael Lawrence Age 72 of Kettering, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Kettering Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Josephine Nicksich. He is survived by his children: son Myles Nicksich and partner Cathy of Dayton, and daughter, Eve Gensler and husband Robert of Beavercreek. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ansley and Cayleb Schneider and Brian Gensler, as well as a brother, Joe Nicksich and wife Val of PA. Mike was born in Washington, PA and attended Monessen High School where he was a vital part of the 1961 AA Championship team on both offense and defense. He was also a starting outfielder and pitcher on the Greyhounds baseball team all three years at Monessen. His excellent athleticism won him a scholarship with the University of Dayton football team where he played for two years before transferring to West Virginia University. Following an enlistment in the US Army, Mike returned to the Dayton area and worked in pharmaceutical sales for many years, then founded ABS Personnel Services in 1994. A celebration of Mike's life will be held at the Mandalay Banquet Center, 2700 E. River Rd, Moraine, OH 45439 on Thursday evening, February 16, 2017 from 4-6 PM.
