Michael "Micky" Gene Laffitte Memorial services for Michael "Mickey" Gene Laffitte, 66, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mansfield, LA. Officiating will be Father Matthew Long. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Mickey was born on March 10, 1950 in Mansfield, LA the youngest of eight to Mary Myrtle Rambin and Joseph Percy Laffitte, and went to be with our Lord on October 13, 2016 in Mansfield, LA. He graduated 3rd in his class from Mansfield High School in 1970. He avoided large crowds. Mickey loved his family, had a great passion for cooking, and loved to fish and hunt. He had a big heart and would do anything he could for anyone that needed him. Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Peggy Laffitte Strange, brother, Johnny Ray Laffitte, Sister, Mary Jo Laffitte Cooper, and sister, Lana Laffitte Hutto. He is survived by sister, Nan Laffitte Bedsole of Shreveport, LA; sister, Kathy Laffitte Snelling of Shreveport, LA; brother, Herman Perry Laffitte of Mansfield, LA; six nieces; three nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. The family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
