Michael Leon Kogutkiewicz June 29, 1948 - September 26, 2016 Mike Kogutkiewicz, 68, passed into heaven the evening of September 26, 2016, from Parkinson's with Lewy Body Dementia. His wife and two daughters were by his bedside. He was born in Illinois on June 29, 1948 to Leon and Beatrice (Freemuth) Kogutkiewicz. Mike spent most of the first 40+ years of his life in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. In 1987 he moved to Eugene to become President of Crane Equipment Manufacturing. He guided the small company through both good and bad times, treating employees, vendors and customers with honesty, integrity, and generosity. Mike was a long time member of Emerald Executive Association, supporting its members and businesses. In July of 2013, as his Parkinson's and dementia advanced, it was necessary for him to retire. On November 23, 1991, Mike married Nancy Knudsen. They completed their family adopting two beautiful daughters from China, Natalie in 1996 and Lauren in 1999. Mike's hobby was his family and he lived a second childhood raising his kids. His oldest daughter, Ashley, grew up living with her mother in Massachusetts but came for visits. He liked to do fun things like carnivals and fairs, bike rides and water fights and popsicles and DQ. He was a wonderful, caring, loving and affectionate father and husband and we loved him very much. Mike was also a man of faith with the gift of encouragement. He touched many lives with his kind words, his generosity and his compassion. His caring spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be held October 30, 2016, 2:00 PM at Norkenzie Christian Church, located at 2530 Crescent Avenue, Eugene, OR. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Resources of Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary. Please access the obituary and you are invited to sign the guestbook at musgroves.com.
