Michael L. Heimes
Heimes, Michael L. Macedon: January 3, 2017, age 78, Michael L. "Grandpa Dog" Heimes passed away peacefully on January 3, 2017 at Clifton Springs Hospital after a long battle with MDS; his loving wife, Dianne, by his side. He was 78 years old. Mike is survived by his wife Dianne Heimes of 37 years, his sister Mary Ann (Jerry) MacCammon, five children, Laura Heimes (Douglas Conners), Robert and David "Daddy D Dog" Heimes, Elizabeth (Mark) Owen, David (Katie Griffin) Barmaster; 8 grandchildren, Patrick Conners, Brittney, Austin, Madison and Jacob "J Dog" Heimes, Zachary (Heather) and McKenzie Owen and Eryca Barmaster; 3 great grandchildren, Finley and Landri Owen and "Kessa" Barmaster, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Employed by Gleason Works and Mobil Chemical as a millwright for many years Mike could always be found tinkering on a piece of equipment, either his own or on a friend's who needed his help. In fact, he was practically everyone's "go to guy" for just about anything and nothing made him happier. Those close to him knew that friends and family was what mattered most to Mike; hi-fives for the little ones and huge hugs for everyone else. His smile lit up a room. Mike was always on the go. An avid race fan, he would often be found at the track cheering on his son and/or grandson. He also enjoyed being in the audience at his daughter's concerts, watching the birds at his campsite in Florida, helping his friend Dave with his various house projects in the Adirondack Mountains or just taking a drive with Dianne or a boat ride with Sue Ann. If he wasn't moving, he wasn't happy! Family & friends are invited to a Memorial Service at the All Season's Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534 on Sunday, January 15 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at White Haven immediately following the Memorial Service. There are many ways to honor Mike's memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Sodus Microd Club, P.O. Box 219, Williamson, NY 14589. Or, donate blood; because without it we wouldn't have had him with us for as long as we did.
