In memory of
Merlin Russell Wright
MERLIN RUSSELL WRIGHT May 4, 1945 to October 6, 2016 Merlin was born to James Russell and Josephine Wright in Coos Bay, Oregon. When he was seven, the family moved to Cottage Grove, Oregon where he attended local schools and made many lifelong friendships. He moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1964 to attend Clark College. Merlin became a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 4, and worked 38 years on the waterfront. He was married to Hedda Norris and they enjoyed more than 45 years together, mainly living in Battle Ground. Merlin will be remembered as a car guy, owning many, many makes and models, but with a special interest in Mercury's. Merlin is survived by his wife, Hedda; sisters, Wade Reynolds of Anchorage and Willetta Morgan of North Bend, Oregon. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Merlin, just as he truly adored them. As Merlin requested, no services will be held.
