HARRIS, MAYME C. Mayme C. Harris, 73, of Bridgeport entered eternal rest Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wilcox, AL to the late Henry and Georgia Butler, Mayme has been a resident of Bridgeport for the past 30 years. She was employed over 20 years with the Dept. of Social Services as a supervisor at the Regional Center in Norwalk. Mayme was a disciple and first lady of Good News Missionary Baptist Church where her husband served as pastor. Her church participation included Deaconess, usher and president of the Salvation Singers Choir. In addition to her parents, six siblings predeceased her. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Pastor James E. Harris of Bridgeport; two sons, Tony C. and Alvin Butler, both of VA; three daughters, Wanda, Latasha and Hoppe Butler, all of Bridgeport; a brother, Rev. William Butler of CA; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank St., Bridgeport, with Dr. Lindsay Curtis, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends are invited to the viewing Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. See
