Services for Maureen Harris, age 93, of Carrollton, formerly of Sweetwater will be at 10a.m Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev Matt Mcgowan officiating. Interment will be at the Garden of Memories under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Visitation will be from 5 to 7p.m Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at McCoy Funeral Home located at 401 E. Third Street in Sweetwater. Harris died Saturday Nov. 19, 2016 in Carrollton. Harris was born December 26, 1922 in London, England. She married Rex Olen Harris January 1, 1946 in London, England. Maureen moved to Sweetwater with her husband in 1953. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sweetwater. Maureen volunteered many years at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She worked with her husband was a sale person with C.R. Anthony Company and retired after 35 years. She was a member of Mamie D. Crane Order of the Eastern Star #1018, the Sweetwater Elks Lodge, and the V.F.W.. Being from England, she served in the Womens's Land Army of England from 1942 to 1946 during W.W. II. She is survived by two daughters: Linda Taylor & husband Leddie C. of Carrollton, TX Janet Kettler & husband Dick of Waco, TX; three franddaughters: Lisa Kettler Martin & husband Jeff of Fulshear, TX, Katherine Kettler of Cedar Park, TX, Kimberly Kettler of Waco, TX; three grandsons: Chris Taylor & wife Danika of Austin, TX, Justin Kettler of Dallas, TX, Ben Taylor & wife Crystal of Plano, TX; five great grandchildren: Rex Martin, Grant Martin, Dawson Taylor, Kaylen Taylor, Brynna Taylor, and Crozby Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband Rex Olen Harris December 6, 1981, her parents; Benjamin Goldston and Elizabeth Sheedy Goldston, and a sister Lily Williams. Pallbearers are Chris Taylor, Justin Kettler, Ben Taylor, Dick Kettler, Leddie Taylor, and Jeff Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital Lady's Auxiliary.
