In memory of
Mary "Frances" Miller Wigington, 97, of Blue Springs, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at her daughter's home in Cherry Creek. She was born September 15, 1919 in Union County, Mississippi to Will and Ethel Clayton Miller. She married Willie J. Wigington on October 4, 1941. She was a homemaker and a member of Ellistown Baptist Church. In her early years, Frances loved playing music. She was a member of the Miller Family Band where she played guitar and sang. She also enjoyed quilting. As she got older and her fingers were no longer as nimble, she enjoyed fishing with her husband and family. In her later years, she enjoyed reading, puzzles, and being an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks. She always enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and a good laugh. Frances was the epitome of grace and grit. She is survived by two sons, Bill (Carolyn) Wigington of New Albany, and John (Shirley) Wigington of Blue Springs; three daughters, Juan (Allen) Denton of Ecru, Nancy Wigington of Blue Springs, and Kathy (Lynn) Walker also of Blue Springs; a sister-in-law, Ann Miller of Germantown, TN; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Clyde, Billy "Dink", and Donald Miller; and one sister Marguerite "Pete" Story. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Kevin Marty, and Doug Wigington, Jonathan Coker, and Nathan and Terry Denton. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons. Visitation will be Saturday, October 15, 2016, at United Funeral Home in New Albany from 12:00-2:00. The funeral will follow at 2:00 with Bro. Mark Jones and Bro. Mike Brazeal officiating.
