Schwinn, Mary Coad Mary Coad Schwinn was born May 11, 1925 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Catherine and Richard Coad. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Milwaukee Catholic Home in Milwaukee, WI. Mary was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She attended Rosary College and graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation Mary moved to Chicago, Illinois where she met and fell head over heels for Edward Schwinn. They married, moved to Winnetka Illinois where they raised their five children spending summers in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. An ardent golfer and bridge player she was an active member of the Lake Geneva Country Club. Her passion for painting led her to travel exensively. She actively supported the Hadley School for the Blind, the Boy's Club of Chicago, the Garden Club of Lake Geneva as well as civic organizations. Later she moved to the Tequesta, Florida area where she was a member of the Jupiter Hills Country Club. She continued to visit Lake Geneva every summer. Mary is survived by all five of her children, Edward (Leslie) Schwinn, Lisa S. Murphy, Richard (Debra) Schwinn, Mary (Peter) Davis and Susan (Nick) Strezlecki, 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many, many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Schwinn, her brother, Richard Coad and her sister, Katherine Voge. A memorial mass is planned for 11:30 AM Saturday October 15th at St Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 148 W Main St, Lake Geneva, WI 53147. The burial will be private.
