Mary A. Sauber, 77, of Wauseon passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. Mary was born in Napoleon on Dec. 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Otto and Martha (Hahn) Hurst. On Sept. 21, 1963, she married Harold "Heidi" Sauber, and he survives. Mary had graduated from the Flower Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. Prior to her retirement in 2004, she had been a registered nurse for over 40 years, having last served as the night shift supervisor for the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon. Also surviving is her daughter, Amy (Scott) Rychener of Wauseon; three sons, David (Andrea) Sauber of Wauseon, Tim Sauber of Largo, Fla., and Andrew Farkas of Wauseon; grandchildren, Matt, Blake, Luke, Lexi, and Noah; and great-grandchildren, Claire and Braxton. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David Hurst. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Julie Parsell officiating. Private interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Napoleon. Visitation for Mary will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.
