Sister Mary Pacifica Lorber, O.S.F EAST PEORIA - Sister Mary Pacifica, 104, a member of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, died at 1 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Motherhouse in East Peoria. She was born August 13, 1912, in Springfield, IL, to John and Anna Schindler Lorber. Two brothers preceded her in death. Sister Mary Pacifica entered in the convent on March 31, 1938, at St. Anthony Convent in Rock Island, IL. During her 78 years of religious life, she served in the dietary department at St. Francis Hospital, Kewanee, IL, from 1947-1954; Schlarman Children's Home, Peoria, IL, from 1955-1958; Huber Memorial Home, Rock Island, IL from 1958-1964; St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island, IL, from 1964-1972. In 1975, she became a Registered Pharmacy Apprentice in the state of Illinois and worked in the Pharmacy Dept. at Franciscan Medical Center, Rock Island, IL from 1972-1982. She also served as activity aide, pastoral care visitor and carriage house aide at St. Anthony's Care Center, Rock Island, IL. Sister retired on November 12, 2002, to the Motherhouse. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the Motherhouse. Visitation will be at 7 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, at the Motherhouse. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Wright & Salmon Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of the arrangements.
