GREENVILLE - Mary Lou Lorenzen, eldest daughter of Walter Boyanton and Jean McNeill, was called home on October 18, 2016, due to complications of a long struggle with cancer. She is finally at peace.
Mary earned a degree from Skagit Valley Community College and remained there to teach in her field of Computer Science Technology, eventually "retiring" to Greenville, KY.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, David Lorenzen (Mr. D); her six children, Frank (Lisa), Margaret (Andrew), twins Josh and Erin, Richard, and Janet (Mick); her siblings Richard (Grace), Margaret, Ronnie, Eugene (Debbie) and Carl (Heidi); seven grandchildren Brianna, Audria, Kenneth, Rachel, Jenny, Virginia, and Rylee; and several great grandchildren.
She was our angel here on earth and is now our angel watching over us. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, and her love for life. Her compassion for people was never idle; she combined it with a practical mindset and a talent for motivating everyone to constructive action, always improving the lives of those she knew. She never met a stranger: everyone she met remembers her warm glow and smile, and most grew to consider her a close and trusted friend. Mary worked very hard all her life, even through debilitating cancer, up to her last day. She made a difference in the lives of every person she met, and all are welcome to join us and celebrate her life together.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 6:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Greg Brooks officiating. Visitation will be Friday beginning at 4:00PM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Western Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
