June 4, 1923-Apr. 16, 2017 Mrs. Mary Alice Taylor Hansford age 93 of Moss Point, MS passed away peacefully Sunday, April 16, 2017. Born June 4, 1923 in Louisville, MS to the late Elbert and Lummie Whitten Taylor, she had been a resident of Jackson County, MS for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Ridglea Heights Baptist Church. She worked in retail at Brumfield's and Austin's Department stores and she enjoyed playing cards. On August 12, 1964, she married her beloved husband George R. Hansford, they were married 44 years. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband George in 2007; her daughter-in-law Karen Casto Hansford in 2005; and a grandson Randell "Randy" Hansford in 2015. Among her survivors are one son Don Hansford of Gautier, MS; three daughters Ann Bell and her husband JW of Big Point, MS, Catherine Watkins and her husband Charles of Goose Creek, SC, Lucy Hansford of Jackson, MS; seven grandchildren Salina Krasowski her husband Matthew of Mt. Pleasant SC, Cheryl Estee of Palms, SC, Christi McMillian and her husband Justin of Vancleave, MS, Robert Peden and his wife Becky of Moss Point, MS, Lesa Carron of Ocean Springs, MS, Gary Bell and his wife Deanna of Moss Point, MS and Karen Bell Boykin of Moss Point, MS; twenty-five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Ridglea Heights Baptist Church with Brother Steve Cirlot officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Services are under the direction of O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home of Pascagoula.
