GOULD, MARY K. Mary K. Gould, 101, of Wheelock, VT and West Yarmouth, MA, passed away at Cape Cod Hospital on Sunday, October 2, 2016 after a short period of declining health. Mary was born on June 30, 1915 in East Haven, CT, daughter to the late Alexander and Eva Kopylec. She grew up on the farm and attended the old North Hill School. She married George Edward Gould and lived for many years on Laydon Avenue in North Haven, CT. Mary worked for many years as a childcare provider. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at Arden House Convalescent Center. Mary was an active member of the North Haven Schools Fife and Drum Corps Parent Group. She was known as the “dues lady” because she collected the weekly dues from the members. She also sewed many uniforms for the corps throughout the years. After moving to Vermont, Mary was a member of the Wheelock Community Club and helped with their annual chicken pie suppers. She enjoyed gardening, making quilts, embroidery, watching birds and listening to music. Mary was predeceased by her parents; her husband, George Gould; her brothers, Andrew, Joe, Steve, Mike and John Kopylec; her daughter, Ruth Gould Lewis; and her grandson, William Gould, Jr. She is loved and remembered by her son, William Gould (Dorothy) of Lyndonville, VT, her daughters, Mary Della Camera of North Haven, CT, Helen White of West Yarmouth, MA, Alice Simpson (Ken Newman) of Wheelock, VT; and son-in-law, Richard Lewis of North Haven, CT. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Della Valle of North Haven, CT; Theresa Wayne of Eustice, FL; and Alice Williams (Justin) of Wallingford, CT; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A graveside committal service will be held at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, CT on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11am. Luncheon to follow at Doody’s Totoket Inn, 485 Foxon Road, North Branford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to either the Riverside Life Enrichment Center, 2104 E.
