Mary Caroline Cowden passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, from the onset of a sudden illness. Celebration of life: Her life will be celebrated in pink at 10 a.m. Saturday at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church Childhood Ministries. Mary Caroline, known to all who loved her as "MC," was born Oct. 16, 2015, in Dallas. She laughed, smiled, and wore big bows, bringing joy and happiness to everyone. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the PICU unit of Medical City Children's Hospital in Dallas for their incredible care provided to Mary Caroline and the entire family. The family would also like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the staff of Southwest Transplant Alliance for the coordination of the organ donation process. MC ran the race God had set for her for 362 days and is continuing to complete it victoriously through organ donation. She was preceded by her paternal great-grandparents, Mr. James Vardeman Kemper, Ms. Pat Sale Kemper, Mr. Courtney Holt Cowden; maternal great-grandparents, Honorable George Edward Cire and Mr. Bobby Frank Hicks. Survivors: Mary Caroline is survived by her parents, Patrick and Erin; big brother, Hicks Price, 3; paternal grandparents, Ms. Caroline Kemper Cowden of Fort Worth, Mr. Lynn Franklin Cowden of Skellytown; maternal grandparents, Ms. Peggy Cire Hicks of Houston, Mr. Dusty Hicks of Midland; paternal great-grandmother, Ms. Margaret Price Cowden of Midland; maternal great-grandmothers, Mrs. Peggy Cire Graves of Montgomery, Ms. Barbara Reynolds of McKinney; aunts and uncles, Janann and Kemper Cowden, Jessica and Craig Cowden, Mary Caroline Cowden and Joel O'Neal, Emily and Chris Hicks; and cousins, Lola, Caroline Rae and Patricia Sale, Conner and Creed, Georgia and Graham Kathryn; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and loved ones who adored MC very much.
