Mary Brown MACON, Georgia- Mary L. Brown, 68, went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 13, 2017. Memorial services will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, March 18, 2017, in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home in Gray with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Private burial will be at a later date at Woodhaven Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemore Road, Powell, Tennessee 37849. Mrs. Brown was born March 8, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas and had lived in the middle Georgia area most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles H. Halk and Mary Oletha Halk. Mrs. Brown was a 1967 graduate of Norris High School in Norris, Tennessee and was a member of the Church of Christ in Clinton, Tennessee. She enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting gatherings, but her greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends. Mary was employed for several years at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation and was also the owner of Mary's Bakery in Gray before closing her store and returning to Harriman, Tennessee to devote herself completely to her family and friends. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Halk, Jr. and a daughter: Diane Brown Armoska. Mrs. Brown is survived by her children and spouses: Tammy and John Case of Macon, Charles Courtney of Parkin, Arkansas and Angela and Danny Sebestyen of Sugar Hill; grandchildren and spouses: Kevin and Samantha Denny of Macon, Jessica and Hunter Willis of Gray, Nick Case of Macon, Madison and James Brunson of Monks Corner, South Carolina, Bridgette Courtney of Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Christian Courtney of Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Charles Courtney of Parkin, Arkansas, Marin Sebestyen of Sugar Hill and Coleman Sebestyen of Sugar Hill; ten great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law: James and Pat Halk of Harriman, Tennessee and by a sister and brother-in-law: Janis and John Courtney of Harriman, Tennessee. The family would like to thank the Coliseum Medical Center Hospital and staff, especially ICU, CVICU and the 5th floor, as well as, PruittHealth Hospice Care for the love, care and compassion given to their mother at such a difficult time.
