Mary Belfinger Yale Mary Belfinger, 81, of Yale, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, at MediLodge of Yale. She was born April 27, 1935, in Yugoslavia the daughter of the late Mattias and Julia (Csupan) Kurtz. Her marriage of 54 years to Stefan Belfinger was November 28, 1953, in Detroit. Stefan died April 29, 2008. Mary was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett and 50 year member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was employed by the former I.G.A., Yale, and enjoyed veggie and flower gardening, her cat "Hazel" and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are a son and a daughter-in-law, Joseph and Carla of Yale, daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Chuck Sopha of Emmett; four grandchildren, Jason and Michael Belfinger, Stefanie Harvey and Mary Gonzalez; three great-grandchildren, Emily Belfinger, and Kaleb and Kaylee Harvey; sisters, Katherine Matievich, Anna Mueller and Helen Kurtz and several nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by a son, Stephan Belfinger in 2011. The family honors the memory of Mary and invite you to visit and share memories Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Rite of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett, with 9:30 a.m. visiting. Fr. Doc Ortman, visiting pastor, will officiate.
