In memory of
Mary Carla Barrett
BARRETT Mary Carla Barrett, born January 19, 1933, passed away peacefully January 6, 2017 at her home in Pigeon Forge, TN. Born in Miami, FL, she met and married the love of her life, Bert Barrett and built a life together in Miami. Their love of the sea & fishing let them to their home in Key Largo. Carla was a wonderful homemaker and the perfect business partner with her husband. After her first job at the original Pilot House she opened her a ceramic shop "Barrett's Ceramics". Carla's claim to fame in Key Largo was that every boat Bert built was named the "Carla B". Always looking forward to the next great adventure, Carla and Bert retired (once again) and moved to southern Georgia and eventually to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Working side by side, they were involved in many business ventures throughout their lives together. They were very involved in the Gatlinburg Craftsman's Fair for years which led to buying the "Soda Fountain" in the Arts and Crafts Community. The Smoky Mountain Cruisers was a great pastime for Carla and Bert due to their love for vintage street rods. "Ma" was the head of our family and will be dearly missed by us all. We all have great "Ma" stories that we will smile at and cherish for the rest of our lives. She is at home in peace with her beloved mother and brother and sister; survived by her loving husband of 67 wonderful years, Daniel Bert Barrett, Son: Marvin Daniel Barrett of Key Largo, FL. Daughter; Rhonda Sue King and son-in-law Rick King of Sevierville, TN, Grandchildren; Jennifer Arnold, Elizabeth Young, Jarrod Arnold, Jocelyn Tiedemann, and Cheryl McBay. She is also survived by 7 lively and very loved great grandchildren. Private services were held for the family. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
