Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette for Martin Thomas Wellbrock, 59, who died on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by his family. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will officiate the Memorial Mass. Lectors will be Amy Carlson and Mandy Jumonville. Gift Bearers will be Wanda Begnaud and Marna Carlson. Stephanie Hoffpauir, vocalist, accompanied by Kevin Martin, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Be Not Afraid", "Here I Am Lord" and "I Have Loved You". John A. Hendry will give the Eulogy. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Maggie Wellbrock of Duson, LA; two sons, Dexter Wellbrock and Nicholas Wellbrock both of Duson, LA; his mother, Doris Wellbrock of New Iberia, LA; three sisters, Jo Ann Bollig (Robert) of Fairfax, VA, Marna Carlson (David) of New Iberia, LA and Wanda Begnaud (Keith) of New Iberia, LA; five brothers, Bryan Wellbrock (Dottie) of Burlison, TN, Roger Wellbrock (Janet) of Coteau, LA, Gary Wellbrock (Vickie) of Bayou Jack, LA, Chad Wellbrock of New Orleans, LA, and Chris Wellbrock of New Iberia, LA.; and his aunt and Godmother, Lois Rajewski of New Iberia, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Wellbrock; and his niece, Crystal Begnaud. Martin Thomas Wellbrock was born in Great Bend, Kansas and was a current resident of Duson, Louisiana. He worked as a District Sales Representative for Little Debbie for over 30 years. Mr. Wellbrock had a quirky sense of humor and was known as the family storyteller. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, crabbing and going on spontaneous adventures. Martin cherished his wife and his family and loved spending time with them. He will be dearly missed.
