TERENS--Martin. October 12, 2016, Martin Terens passed away peacefully at home following a courageous battle with Lymphoma. Devoted husband of 37 years to Sheila, and previously to the late Joyce Terens. Loving father to Doris (Steven) Rubin, Nancy (William) Tartikoff, Jonathan (Carrie) Awner and Steven (Maxine) Awner. Adored grandfather to Elissa (Jason) Rosenfelt, Jason (Jocelyn) Rubin, Jeremy (Erika) Shure, Lauren (Jordan) Rand, Amy (the late Jonathan) Gitelman, Jennifer (Doug) Grossfeld, Kyle, Jillian, Evan, Harleigh and Morgan Awner, and proud great- grandfather of ten. A Brooklyn native, Martin was the cherished son of the late Joseph and Pauline Terens of Manhattan Beach, and the dear brother of Roslyn Cabin. As Chief Financial Officer of Schweber Electronics Inc., Westbury, NY, for 27 years, Martin was instrumental in facilitating the company's growth into a leading national distributor of semiconductors, and its acquisition by Lex Services of Great Britain. He honorably served as a Flight Engineer on B-29 bombers in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Marty will always be remembered by family and friends for his endearing smile and warm personality, as well as his sense of humor and love of music, art, and architecture. A funeral service will be held at Star of David Chapel in West Babylon, on Sunday, October 16, at 10:00am. Due to Sukkoth holiday, Shiva will be on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00pm and from 7:00 to 10:00pm at the NY home of Sheila Terens. Donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC.
