In memory of
Cox's Creek Smith, Marnie, 76, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. He was a retired teacher for the Nelson County Board of Education with 28 years of service, and a farmer. He was a member of Chaplin Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and former church treasurer. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Hibbs Smith, 2 sons, Clay Smith of Cox's Creek, and Gene (Alana) Smith of Chaplin, 3 sisters, Olena (Rev. Wayne) Brickner of Birmingham, AL., Alma Brown of Charlestown, IN., Becky (Bob) Bennett of Duncan, KY., 5 brothers, Eugene (Betty) Smith of Campbellsville, Nathaniel (Betty) Smith, Kenny Smith, both of Henryville, IN., and Finace (Cindy) Smith of Georgetown, IN., as well as 2 grandchildren, Raina and Sheperd Smith. Funeral services for Mr. Marnie Smith will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Chaplin Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Thompson will officiate. Interment will be in Highview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the church. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Gideon's International or the donor's favorite charity. The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
