Marlin K. Spittle
MILLERSBURG - Technical Sergeant Marlin K. Spittle, USAF retired, 88, of Millersburg passed away Tuesday, January 10th at the Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on November 16th, 1928 in Williamstown, PA. In 1947 at age 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps which later that year became the U.S. Air Force. His assignments over his 20 year career ranged from Okinawa in the Far East to Europe in the West until his retirement in 1967, after which he and his family settled in Millersburg. During his life here he served as Post Commander of the VFW several times. He had his own home refurbishing business and worked as a carpenter for PENNDOT until his retirement at age 70. He was the husband of the late Thelma (Kuhns) Spittle for 59 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Millersburg. He is survived by his two sons Jeff of Sun City West, AZ and Eric and his wife Susan of Warrenton, VA, grandchildren Leaf, Holly, Emily and Kyle, and great grandsons Bailey and Luke as well as his brother James Spittle. The family will receive friends Friday, January 20th from 10-11:00 am at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg.
