Marjorie Ann Kunkel Cox, age 86, died on Tuesday morning, Nov. 22, 2016 at her home in Romney. She was born on Feb. 28, 1930 in Linden, to the late Fowler E. and Elizabeth B. (Vail) Kunkel. She married Howard D. Cox on Oct. 5, 1949 in Crawfordsville and he preceded her in death. Marjorie attended New Richmond High School and lived most of her life in New Richmond as a housewife until moving to Romney with her husband in 1973. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and watching IU basketball. Marjorie is survived by her son, Steve (Debbie) Cox of Fishers, and daughter, Vicki (Bill) Martin of New Richmond: grandchildren, Sarah (Matthew) Kelp of New Richmond, Laura (Joshua) Devine of Fishers, and Jason Cox of Plainfield. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren: Lauren and Nolan Kelp, Rylee and Ava Devine. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, granddaughter Jill Elizabeth Martin, brothers: Donald Kunkel and Ralph Kunkel, her sisters, Maxine Bridge and Betty Ellis. A celebration of Marjorie's life was held Nov. 27 at Friends Funeral Home of Wingate and led by Pastor John Pettigrew. Marjorie was interred in the New Richmond Cemetery.
