In memory of
Marjorie R. Bruce
Marjorie Bruce died peacefully in her sleep on October 24, 2016 in Springfield, Oregon. Marjorie was born on January 13, 1927 in Sterling, Oklahoma and was the youngest child of George Michael and Anna Francesca Malvern. She grew up in Weatherford, Oklahoma where she married Max Bruce in 1946. Marjorie and Max had five children, daughter Connie Youngblood, and sons Dave, Mike, Bob and Jeff Bruce. Sadly, Dave passed away a few weeks after Marjorie died. After attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, Marjorie and Max lived primarily in California, Utah and Oregon until they divorced in 1966. Marjorie then returned to Weatherford, Oklahoma to be closer to her mother, where she owned and ran a small business after which she worked in an accounting firm until retirement. She remained in Weatherford until 2008 when she moved to Springfield, Oregon to be closer to four of her five children and, most importantly, closer to her youngest grandchildren. Marjorie was a voracious reader. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling. Her hobbies included playing the piano. She regularly played bridge, canasta and pinochle and was the family expert when it came to crossword puzzles. Marjorie was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church. Marjorie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Connie and AV Youngblood and their three children and five grandchildren, by daughter-in-law Tina Bruce and the three children of Dave and Tina Bruce, by son and daughter-in-law Mike Bruce and Julie Redner, by son and daughter-in-law Bob and Terri Bruce and their four children, and by son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Sharon Bruce and their two sons. A celebration of Marjorie's full and meaningful life will be held at the Chapel of the Springfield Memorial Gardens on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm. ... Show More
