Marjorie Bixler died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Her ashes will be taken to Kentucky to the same place she scattered those of her husband. Memorials: Memorial donations may be made to the American Civil Liberties Union or Planned Parenthood. Marjorie Bixler was born and lived in Kentucky until moving to Texas in 2005 after the death of her husband, Ray H. Bixler. She was a teacher, artist, and writer. Several of her short stories appeared in literary journals. Survivors: Daughters, Danae Bixler, Minda Stratton and Andrea Bixler; son, Robert D. Bixler; stepdaughter, Deveney Totten; and five grandchildren.
