Marjorie (Giliand) Adams
Marjorie Adams, 88, of Troy, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Sugar Creek Assisted Living. She was born on June 3, 1928, in Hawk Point to Robert and Dona (Burgess) Gilliand. After graduating from Buchanan High School, Marjorie started working at McDonnell- Douglas (now Boeing.) She was married to Edward Brune and to this marriage were born three children David, Patty and Rick. After Edward passed away, Marjorie was united in marriage to Thomas Rogers Adams and their family grew to include Laura, Dean and eventually Martha was born to Marjorie and Thomas Rogers. Marjorie loved to play pinochle and card games. She enjoyed embroidering, gardening and canning. Marjorie was an enthusiastic St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She is survived by her children David Brune of Columbia, Patty Barchesky of Hawk Point, Rick and wife Martha Brune of O'Fallon, Laura and husband Rocky of Michigan, Dean and wife Carol Adams of O'Fallon, Martha and husband Mike Dabbs of Manchester; five grandchildren Christopher Barchesky, Eric Adams, Casey Adams, Jesse Adams, Ethan Dabbs; step-grandchildren Lee Taylor, Vanessa Taylor, two step great-grandchildren Brianna Crews and Adam Collins, one brother; Robert and wife Carol Gilliand of California, one sister, Kay and husband Bob Putting of Troy and many other relatives and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husbands, her son-in-law Steve Barchesky and her sister, Darlene Visitation will be Wednesday Oct, 19, 2016, from 4-8 p.m at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street Troy. Funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Darrell Alley to officiate.
