Marilyn J. Van Druff
Marilyn J. Van Druff, 86, of Brighton, passed away March 6. Marilyn and her family lived in Winona, Kan., until she was 13 years old. In 1943, the family moved to Brighton, where Marilyn attended eighth grade. In the summer of 1944, the family moved to Wheat Ridge, where Marilyn attended and graduated from Wheat Ridge High School. After graduation, Marilyn went to work for an insurance company until 1951 when she married Jack Van Druff and moved to Fort Morgan, where Jack was employed at a furniture and appliance store. A few months later they moved to Brush, where their daughter, Dianne, was born. In 1957 the family moved to Denver, where their daughters, Julie and Lisa, were born. Eleven years later the family moved to a small acreage outside of Hudson. Marilyn was an active member of Brighton United Methodist Church for years. She also worked as an office administrator and secretary for 11 years. Marilyn was a skilled seamstress and needlework artist. She crocheted beautiful prayer shawls for friends, family and community members. Survivors include her three daughters, Dianne Belgard (Richard), Julie DiTullio (Jerry) and Lisette Gonzales (James); three grandchildren, Ashley Steadman (Ryan), Anthony DiTullio and Sarah DiTullio; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services were March 9 at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery. A memorial service was March 10 at Brighton United Methodist Church. Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary handled the arrangements.
